Jermy Fartz was originally a Camp Campbell camper that made his debut in his eponymous episode "Jermy Fartz" before being turned in to the Wood Scouts after Camp Campbell "lost" a bet to them.
Personality[]
Jermy Fartz is a nerdy, depressing, apologetic, gluttonous, clumsy, and revolting boy who occasionally farts. In response to Gwen's statement that he has "special needs," he points out that his doctor found him to be a normal person and he does not mind being made fun of.
He doesn't appear to understand social cues very well, proudly admitting to Max, Neil, and Nikki that he spends his weekends "practicing kissing with his dog", while apparently not knowing that that's not a normal thing to do at home. Or in general, really. He also has a major case of not knowing what TMI(too much information) means, often bringing up and announcing the state of his messed up medical health like it's the weather.
He is also not very bright-minded as he confuses the branches of a birch tree with those of a pine tree and says "yogurt pants" instead of "yoga pants." In one scene in which Neil, Max, and Nikki were conducting experiments, his fart causes a flame to directly blow away their hard work and effort, although he had was not aware of his actions and was too focused on picking up a cupcake from the ground.
He is shown to improve throughout the seasons, however, even being shown to have a decent, though still mildly strained, bond with the other woodscouts. In Campfire tales, he is shown (implied) to be insecure about his looks, assuming everyone dislikes him because of his appearance, and NOT because he's a socially inept weirdo. It is unsure how seriously to take this "insecurity", though, seeing as the story was just a buildup to a joke about Jermy getting ripped.
Appearance[]
Jermy is a pale, overweight boy with greasy ink-black hair and buck teeth. At Camp Campbell, he wears brown glasses with yellow-tinted lenses, a blue vest over a mustard-yellow sweater, white socks with blue-gray slippers, gray pants, with underwear pulled up to his waist. He has a prominent nose. As a Woodscout, he wears the standard Woodscout's uniform. He wears a brown-shaded vest with a lighter-shaded brown shirt underneath it. On his chest, he wears a patch displaying a frowning acorn, next to his dark green sash, which only has 2 badges, which makes sense when you consider that Jermy hasn't been in the woodscouts merely as long as the other scouts have. He also wears dark green pants.
Trivia[]
- Jermy's name originated from an inside joke which occurred during the writing sessions for the pilot. It started with Miles Luna farting, leading Jordan Cwierz to react with "get your germy farts away from me!", which eventually lead them into making it a character.[1]
- He has a pet dog named Chuckles which he practices kissing with using chunky peanut butter.
- Jermy is shown to have IBS and "nervous vomiting" in his debut episode.
- In "Operation: Charlie Tango Foxtrot", Jermy is also revealed to suffer from contact dermatitis, which flares up when he grabs the Camp Campbell flag.
- In "Campfire Tales", Jermy is revealed to have narcolepsy, a type of neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable urges to sleep.
- Jermy is also shown to often use Malapropism as he mistakes "yoga pants" for "yogurt pants" and "Debby downer" for "Deborah downer."
- Jermy, alongside Preston Goodplay, Cameron Campbell, Neil Armstrong Junior, Edward Pikeman, Meredith Miller, Billy Nikssilp, Stephen van Petrol, Penelope Priss, Dolph Houston, Gaylord Nurfington, and Cameron Junior "CJ" Campbell are the only characters in the show so far to have their last names revealed.
- Before attending Camp Campbell, Jermy used to have two friends who occasionally called him "Big Nips."
- Jermy is the second character to have switched camps. With Nikki being the first, originating from The Flower Scouts to being a camper at Camp Campbell. And with Jermy originating from Camp Campbell before becoming a Wood Scout.
- Although it is never stated directly in the, a theorized reason for Jermy's chronic revoltingness may because of him being inbred, which is often thought to be so by fans of the show with the reason being that "his parents look related", however, paying attention to their character designs shows that they don't actually look similiar to eachother at all.
- According to Neil in the episode "The Forest", Jermy has enough fart gas inside of his body to fill a blimp.
